“It’s so fun, there’s such a sense of community in the choir, everybody supports everyone else through all of our trials and tribulations.”

Jennifer Parrish, a Lighthouse Choir member

On the evening of June 12, 2025, the lights of Minute Maid Park glowed with more than just anticipation for a baseball game. They illuminated a moment of pride, unity, and purpose as The Lighthouse Choir took the field to perform the National Anthem before thousands of fans at the Houston Astros game.

Founded in 2015, The Lighthouse Choir is a longstanding expression of joy, talent, and resilience within our community. Directed by Dr. Dan Kramlich, the group brings together individuals who are blind or have low vision to create something powerful through song—an experience that lifts both voices and spirits.

This performance wasn’t just a musical moment—it was a declaration. A declaration that access leads to artistry, that inclusion leads to impact, and that empowerment, when nurtured, resounds far beyond the stage. Each note echoed The Lighthouse of Houston’s mission: to enable and empower people who are blind or low vision to realize their full potential.

We are deeply grateful to the Houston Astros for welcoming our choir and sharing official video footage of this unforgettable evening.

At its heart, this moment was about more than a song. It was about being seen, being heard, and belonging.
