Houston Lighthouse Customer Service Certification Training Program

We are pleased to announce that enrollment is now officially open for the Houston Lighthouse Customer Service Certification Training Program!

This intensive, 8-week program is specifically designed to equip participants with the advanced assistive technology skills and core customer service competencies required for successful careers in today’s call center and customer-facing roles.

 Key Program Details

  • Program Start Date: Monday, January 12, 2026
  • Duration: 8 Weeks (Full-time, 5 hours of classroom activities per day)
  • Cost: $1,428

 Program Highlights: A Comprehensive Path to Certification

This robust training covers essential areas from foundational tech literacy to advanced career readiness, culminating in a formal certification.

Weeks 1-2: Advanced Assistive Technology Training

  • In-Depth JAWS Expertise: Receive intensive, hands-on training on the JAWS Screen Reader as the primary assistive technology tool.
  • Productivity Suite Mastery: Learn to expertly navigate and utilize JAWS within Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and the Google environment (specifically Google Forms). This is critical for daily professional tasks.

Weeks 3-5: Core Customer Service Modules

  • Essential Communication: Master professional communication, including active listening, de-escalation fundamentals, professional language, and best practices for written (chat/email) communication.
  • Operational Excellence: Cover critical topics like Call Center Operations, Quality Assurance rubrics, and handling challenging customer situations.
  • Real-World Exposure: Prepare for modern employment through dedicated sessions on Remote, and in person, Work Readiness.

Weeks 6-8: Certification & Career Readiness

  • Job Market Preparation: Build confidence with dedicated workshops on Resume Writing, utilizing job search tools, and extensive Job Interview Skills training, including mock interviews.
  • Formal Certification: The program culminates in a comprehensive assessment (written, oral, and practical) on Day 1 of Week 8, leading to your official certification and preparation for job search.
