Cook. Learn. Belong.
Step into the kitchen and discover the joy of cooking together. This free, hands-on monthly class invites youth ages 5–22 who are blind or low vision—and their families—to build essential kitchen skills in a welcoming, confidence-building space.
Led by our O&M/ADL Specialist, Ruby Cabral, each session blends practical instruction with real-world techniques, empowering participants to move safely, independently, and creatively in the kitchen. Together, families will prepare simple, delicious recipes while strengthening skills that extend far beyond the stove.
Classes take place in the Lighthouse kitchen, located next to The Lighthouse at 820 Marston Street.
All tools and ingredients are provided. No experience required—just curiosity, connection, and an appetite to learn.
This August, we’ll be cooking: Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins!
Registration is required. Come ready to stir, explore, and grow—one meal at a time.
