This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of our Multi Care Center, the first licensed adult day program specifically designed for people who experience vision loss.

Our dedicated staff of Recreation Therapists, an Aquatic Specialist, Register Nurse, Diabetes Educators, and Adaptive Technology Specialists understand the needs associated with caring for people who are blind or visually impaired.  They offer a variety of daily activities that are designed to maintain and improve physical, cognitive and social skills.

Cooking classes, Ceramics, Swimming, Painting, Cardio Exercise, games and yoga are some of the activities our clients participate in.  Multi Care Center activities also include field trips to local venues including the Houston Livestock Show, Rodeo Parade, bowling, Palmetto Multi Sensory Trail, Gulf Greyhound Park and local theatres.

The Lighthouse of Houston is a local agency dedicated to serving people who are blind and visually impaired. For more information about our Multi Care Center and Adult Day Care Program please contact Chelean Zander at 713-284-8494 or CZander@houstonlighthouse.org.
